Full speed ahead!

Well update on my computer situation - funny how much of my time and blogging this topic has taken up *g*. I am now connected to cable internet - oh yeah baby! Already I've done more today than I could do in the slow lane in well.....days, weeks, maybe.  I luv 'driving' fast.

Got my helmet and crash gear just in case though... coz sometimes  technology can be a bitch.

So one of my goals for September completed - buy computer and install cable connection... check!

Have also sent a competition entry for the STALI (Single Title and Loving Competition) by the Romance of Australia. Am also working on the RWNZ Single Title Comp too. Have to work on my synopsis. So that's half a tick.

While the study isn't perfect - I've made great progress though - I can actually SEE the carpet *g*. So I'm giving myself a check for that too.

And I've also been working on writing goals... want to think on it a little more before I let you know about them *g*

The Mac is here, the Mac is here!

Yes, my new iMac has arrived today! And it looks marvelous. See....

Well I haven't got 4 screens, but you get the picture....it's a nice looking machine.

However, the cable internet connection is not due until next week....so I have to wait to zoom around on the net. So until then, I am still driving in the slow lane with dial-up on the PC.

But it's finally happening..... yay!

Countdown

Well this month I intend to go computer hunting and it's about time. I've been struggling with my trusty old friend here but it's having problems. Big problems. If it was a person, I would ask it to go to therapy. Today the monitor wasn't working and then when it did, I had giant icons. I've sort of fixed it but it's still not right. Also I have booked for my cable internet service for September. Great incentive. I've been holding off coz of the funds but I need to do something soon... hence the booking.

So I intend to get a Mac with a big screen. I fell in love with them while doing my initial computer hunt . So hopefully in two months time, I will NOT be complaining about my computer anymore.

I've been fishing around trying to work out my design for my website (has been on the backburner for too long) and that may be another direction I take. Web design. It's creative as well as technical, so it feeds my creative side as well as my more logical librarian side *cheesy grin*. So again the Mac would be perfect.

All I want for Christmas...

Ok, so it is a loooong way to Christmas. Thank goodness. Just trying to get over the Easter celebrations. But the song '"All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth" popped into my head. Why?

Well my computer, that's why. It's been a with me for 7 years and as you know technology has come a long, long way in 7 years. I'm doing what I can with it, the most important being word processing - I can write my stories. BUT internet is slow (dialup) and the poor thing is struggling. It stops and crashes when I am on the internet for too long or try to do more than one thing at a time (yes, I'm impatient) and all my family can hear is me cussing from the study. F'en thing.

So all I want for Christmas is a new computer.... I think I'm going for a Mac this time around. But can I wait for Christmas? I'm getting more and more pissed off...huhumm...annoyed with this computer every day.

So fairy godmuse, if you're listening, can I have a brand new sparkling Mac please? Pretty please?
