Blogs oh blogs, oh my....

I have been remiss of letting you know when I'm at other blogs.

The two regular ones you will see me on are the DarkSide DownUnder blog and the SARA - Sassy In The South Blog, in both cases I'm the blog mum. I'm really proud of my teams and their interesting posts. Why not follow us?

First of all the DSDU blog - btw like the new logo designed by yours truly?

Last week I talked about TV watching and research. You can find the blog post HERE.

With SASSY in the South - I'm compiling the Reading Adventures column, which are reviews by our members.

It's a brand new blog with it's own logo, yep by yours truly...

I've also been blogging about conference spotlights on the Romance Writers of Australia blog and doing the New Releases posts.

So plenty of blogs to go and go read. Go on, what are you waiting for?

Oh, yes, here's my ~yia~

All Things Urban Fantasy have the winners of their 2012 Cover Contest...

The overall winner....

Just love the typography of Iced and how the ice is used in the cover to reflect a barren world. As well as the remains of buildings. It's very cool! And yep, it had been in one of my cover posts late last year.

Booktopia will be announcing the Top 50 Australian authors as voted on their blog. So far 30-50 have been announced.

Other

I'm annoyed. Apparently, Alphas, a tv show on SciFi is not going to be renewed for a season 3. Way to go. I mean I don't want to know what happens to the characters do I. Sigh.

I've been slimed....No, that's Lemonaded....

Lemonaded?  Well it's the "When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade" Award. I was nominated by Christina Phillips and Monique Wood (Thanks Ladies)

Life sure likes to throw lemons at me and mine, so I like to see this is a positive award, because despite the bumps, we still continue on our journey.

It works this way:
1) Link back to the person you received the award from (check), and
2) Nominate 10 bloggers who are deserving of this award (check)

So I shall Lemonade the following (trying not to double up here with others being awarded). Thanks for your inspiring blogs:

* Authorness - Vanessa
* Kiki Lon
* Neomi Quinn ;)
* AJ Macpherson
* The Houseboat of Decadence - CAM
* Tannia Franklin
* Tracey O'hara
* Barbara Hannay
* Trish Morey
* Keri Arthur

May everyone make Lemonade out of any lemons they are given in life - or maybe a lemon cheesecake... hmmm.... cheesecake ;)

Blogged out...

Well not writing them, just reading them. Because I have been snowed under, I had over 1000+ blog feeds in my Google reader. Um...skim....hell yeah! No way I could have read them all.... it felt like it was never ending as it was. But I feel better now that I have skidded over them.....

Now I hope to be able to keep up.

And I did the blog skidding after I did some editing. Yay me.

Over stuffed...

Reminds me of my study...... hee hee.
No seriously, sometimes this is life. Trying to stuff so much into one day and getting distracted by a myriad of things. In the last week, I've realised how much time I spend on 'other' things - eg reading blogs about writing or by authors, or other blogs that interest me, as well as newsletters etc. I find it interesting but it is a time sucker.

The reason why I realised it is that I haven't done much of this type of activity this week. I have been editing using my EeePC and haven't been so distracted by other things on the internet. So I think I need to make sure I get work done before I read blogs. Or limit my time. That way I get to what I want to do to move forward - editing & writing!

Maybe having a sore back was a wake up call.

Do you feel like the guy in the picture sometimes?
How do you balance your time?

Catching up...and polishing

I'm continuing the polishing of my manuscript. It's a long, slow process but I'm at least moving forward. It will will be nice to finally let you know that it's ready for submission. *sigh*

I've also been quiet as I have been doing the shopping for Christmas, caught up with friends and family over the last few days. It has been really lovely. Though I haven't caught up with everyone I wanted to. That seems to happen - time slips away so quickly by the time you make the rounds, you have to start over again. Well at least that is what it seems like to me. :)

I'm way behind on my blog reading - I subscribe to a number of blogs and am falling way behind - and there is so many posts I want to investigate further. Thank goodness for readers, otherwise this would be an impossible feat. I have always had a problem with feeling tired with a computer screen and have really noticed it more in the past month. So hence my stop and starts. It's the way I seem to work. Though I have been a little behind of exercise *hangs head*. But 2009 is around the corner, so would like to establish a routine then. Remind me ok?!!

Also I'm disappointed to learn that Luna will not be published in Australia, so will have to get the US versions if if I want to read them or buy e-books. It was just so easy going to the local Target or Kmart store and having them available there or from the Australian Harlequin site. Too bad.
