Hi Eleni, I found an injured owl on the side of the road late one evening. He was just stunned. I took him home and put him in the garage. Wow. A frogmouth owls wing span is amazing and their claws. I didn't realise this until he flew around the garage startled.
I ended up putting him up the backyard. Fed him worms for a few days until he flew away. Ho hum...I got attached to that owlie. :) I just love them.
I really like owls. We only have one type of owl in NZ - the morepork. We don't see them very often but can hear them calling occasionally. It's a very haunting sound.

Wow Suz what an experience that would have been.
Shelley - oh haunting calls - sounds very intriguing.
May have to do a little bird watching.
