I'm quite pleased with myself. I have read 50 books for the Harlequin Book Challenge (shorter books and novellas are put together to make up an entry). So I'm doing better than last year when I had reached this number in November.
I haven't been reading as much this week as I polish and prep for the RWA conference. Blog posts will probably continue to be short, sharp and shiny or there may be an absence (gasp!) of them as I go to the conference. Only 4 sleeps to go.....
Currently reading: The Flame & The Shadow by Denise Rossetti (reward book)
Poison Study by Maria V Snyder
The Morcai Battalion by Diana Palmer
Blood Price by Tanya Huff

Congrats! Jolly good effort....that is a great many books...I have trouble finishing one these days!
I can't do that challenge... gives me too many good reasons to procrastinate with a book!
Thanks CAM. I made the decision that there were too many books in my TBR pile and I really wanted to get back into reading. If I had the busy days you have, I probably wouldn't be able to finish one either.
LOL Anita! Ah but consider it research. Maybe you should just have a max. amount you will read....or do what I have done and read certain books you really want to read as reward books....do x on your writing, read a chapter, and so on.... :))
Ahhh, but Eleni, I get so involved I don't even realise I have started a new chapter! Much, much easier to just not start. Have more will power that way.
LOL!! Well it is it they say 'Know Thyself' and you surely do.
I didn't think I would be able to stop either - it does take some doing but I think of it as the 'reward' and so I've managed to stick to it.
I'm reading Eloisa James and loving her! I wish I could write as much as I read...
Good luck and see you thursday =)
Bronwyn
Oh Bron, now I have another author to check out ;)) My to get pile is almost as big as my TBR pile! I'm sure you'll find your balance with the reading and writing.
I still have so much to do for Thursday, but can't wait. See you then.
Reward books is such a good idea. At the moment I'm reading a couple of Nocturnes to get a feel for the line. I only discovered them hiding under the Intrigue banner the other week (what's with that!!)
Oh! And have a great time at conference, Eleni! Would love to be there too!!!
Thank Christina, I intend to have a good time at the conference. You enjoy the RWNZ one.. some day I'll make that one.
As for Nocturnes, that's just a marketing thing they do - Intrigue is established in Australia, so if the Nocturnes sell well under those...it may get it's own identity here. Still we know what they are :) Enjoy. I have a few in my TBR pile and you know how big that is.
