I can't believe it's been two years since the DSDU started. Where has the time gone?....
We started on Halloween because it was appropriate for the Dark Side. What could be more dark than Halloween? The ghosts, the ghouls, the general bumpity bump that goes in the night that's supernatural.
But while there is the dark side, I find that I'm also attracted to the lighter side, and we have DarkSiders who also write the lighter side...
In honour of the lighter side, and because I just love having a laugh (long time followers of the blog will know I have a weird sense of the ridiculous), here are some pictures to make you hopefully laugh....
And lastly.....
Now to the prize part of the post...
To win a copy of either Enchanted Realms or Gateway to Hell, please comment below on what you find funny about Halloween.

The laughter is one of the joys of the Darkside.
I enjoyed the examples you left Eleni:) Very funny
I've got a cartoon I like:

I enjoyed this because there's a witch making a crazy spell - something that I enjoy writing about and I love spider man (I hope he doesn't miss his leg, but at least it's gone to a good use).
Happy DSDU Halloween Bday:)
Oh I didn't think laughter was so much a part of Halloween - but those pics sure were funny!
I love reading about the lighter side of paranormal. Even in dark paras I like to have some fun moments :-)
Hehehe! Very good :)
Lol. Love the images Eleni. They made me chuckle.
loved the comics, Eleni. Made my day. Hate clowns. I fail to see how they are funny.
I agree, Jenny re the laughter. without a light side there can't be a dark side :
Lilliana - LOL that's funny. Poor Spidey.
Mel, glad I could convert you :)
I agree Christina - have to have a couple of LOL moments in a book.
Glad you liked Nicole.
SE - yes, clowns are an odd creature...
I love Terry Pratchett’s witches who did not dance around without their drawers on. I’ll never think about witches the same way after reading Nanny Ogg’s cookbook. *Snicker*
That we call it halloween and focus on one aspect without considering what it means in other parts of the world. I'm tempted to start celebrating the Day of the Dead instead :)
Which of course, may make my zombie loving husband happier :)
There is much more to Halloween - I love to delve back to the Celts, Druids and beyond. I must admit that I am of the same mind Imogene, I have a thing for Día de los Muertos. I even used it as a backdrop for one of my short stories (which in itself contained murder and revenge).
What I find funny are the kids who come to the door Trick-or-Treating. Some are dressed up in full costume. Some only wear masks. And half of them just wander up to the door in their street clothes and even forget to say 'trick or treat' - they just look at you, clutching their goodie bags, and wait for a contribution!
The older kids dressing up looking for candy. I can understand the young ones but 18 year olds lol
Lol love the pics!
The kids that go around without costume! Your not going to scare anyone in your school uniform!
I love the pranks whether Im pulling them or having them pulled on me .

C.T - I HAVE to read Nanny Ogg!
Hi Imogene and Natasha - coming from a Greek background, we don't celebrate Halloween. However we have services throughout the year to remember the dead - basically Days of the Dead but not with the flamboyance of the Dia de los Muertos.
Tyla - oh, yes the customes (or lack of) would be funny. We had no trick or treaters this year so can't comment. But I've had both in the past. Usually it's the mask brigade in my case. :)
emmad - it's hard getting older - they suddenly find out there's no sweets- the horror.
Gabbie - oh, but school can be scary....maybe if they put fake blood on the uniform? :) Their mums wouldn't be happy no doubt.
Wanda f- sounds like you enjoy a good laugh Wanda. Good on you.
My husband sets a big bowl of candy out, then hides in the bush's to jump out. I laugh so hard, hes such a big kid.

What I find funny is that the adults get more excited about dressing up in costumes than the kids do!
I loved those cartoons,; I must share them with my friends.
Thanks,

Thanks for the laugh, Eleni. What I find funny about Halloween is that while they're celebrating summer's end (where Halloween originated) we're celebrating summer's beginning. But that's Down Under for you. :)
Lona - LOL re your husband. He surely would scare the trick or treaters.
Tracey D - oh, yes, I do wonder if sometimes it's the adults who want to dress up. I suppose it's the one time of the year that they feel they can get away with it. Seeing a kid out and about in a costume during the year is cute, seeing an adult would make people take one step away. :)
Sandy - yes, we like to be different here Down Under. It's been very warm/hot here the last week, so even more ironic.
Thanks everyone for joining the DarkSiders celebrate their 2nd year.
I'll be posting the winner soon. :)
