The more you get involved with a writing organisation, obviously the more writers you know, the more books you buy as a result.
I'm going to try and spotlight new books by writing buddies in future.
Released during the conference was 'Stone Cold Lover' by Mel Teshco . It is Mel's debut book (congrats Mel!) and published by Ellora's Cave.
Blurb:
Heiress Loretta Shaw is notorious for her loose morals and sexual needs. Trouble is, it's taken her one too many one-night stands to realize that no man can extinguish the sexual fire she feels toward her guardian, Cray Diamond.
A long-ago curse made Cray immortal—a gargoyle, a guardian, who is impelled to protect a human chosen by the curse. He is imprisoned in stone during daylight hours but dusk returns him to flesh and bone to carry out his immortal duty.
That Cray can shift between human and living gargoyle at night bothers Loretta not one bit. She's seen him naked many times and her desire for him—in any shape or form—knows no bounds. She's tired of his resistance. He's her gargoyle…and she wants him in her bed.

Sounds great doesn't it... and it's waiting on my e-TBR pile. I have to resigned myself to the fact that I'm never going to get through my TBR pile as I keep on adding more titles. But hey if it's to support a fellow writer, it's a good thing. And keeps the industry going. I'm all for it...
Yia.

Oh thanks Eleni!!
What a lovely gesture =)
But please, please read it (hee hee!)I sooo want you to love it!
Thanks again for having me, and i hope to see you next conference =)
Kisses
Mel
I'd buy it just for the cover! Mmmm hot bod (check out the biceps on him!).
How fantastic to have your book released during conference Mel. I hope it's doing well!
And lovely idea Eleni.
I have to agree - he's very easy on the eye (g)
It was great to have it released at the conference, though I was going through computer withdrawals. Luckily Denise was on hand for me to use her laptop and see my bookcover in its newly released form =)
Not a problem Mel. I was thinking I haven't done anything like this and how silly of me. I love giving out information (the librarian me), I love reading, I love shouting out friend's names, so why not combine. *VBG*
And I've heard great things about this story indeed. So yes, I have to get a move on and read.
Fingers crossed about next conference.
Anita, yes, the cover, i didn't mention the cover in the blog but then again - hello - it says it all for itself. ;))
Yay for Denise, Mel. Glad you could see it go 'live'.
How exciting!
LOL I find this hard sometimes as I read a book by a friend and if I don't like it...things become awkward lol BUT I have been forced to step outside the comfort zone a little in my reading, which is a good thing!
Oh yes, that is always a danger, isn't it CAM. But I read such a variety of books, I'm rarely disappointed. I just love stories :)
Oh and CAM, it's great you are reading outside your comfort zone. :)
Oh no Cam! I've been lucky enough that it's never happened to me, and I hope..pray! my friends don't hate my writing =(
Having said that, not everyone is going to be a fan, so it pays to have a thick skin! (comps are great for that lol)
Love the site. It's exquisite.
Good luck with the book, Mel. It reads really well.
Wendy
Oh, I know just how you feel, CAM! But luckily, Mel is a friend and I *loved* her story, so I didn't have that awkwardness problem.
Thanks for the spotlight, Eleni!
Hi Wendy!
It most definately is a gorgeous blog =)
And thanks so much for visiting!
Hi Rachel!!
Thanks for stopping by again! - Even more knowing your deadlines right now =)
Thanks Wendy & Mel for the comments about the blog's look. It's an ever changing process with me.
Nice of you to come and cheer Mel along Rachel. I just love the blurb, so I think I'm going to love the story. Unfortunately it has to wait it's turn.
Yay! Mel!
You're on my e-tbr pile, too! I'm thrilled to bits about your launch! And I love that cover.
Eleni - tbr piles are a bit like housework, aren't they -- even if you get close to finishing you'll be out buying another batch of books... or perhaps I should say I'll be out buying another batch of books! LOL
Hi Sharon!
Yes I know what you mean about it being like housework. And yet I still remember the days scouring the house looking for something to read!!! LOL
Oh Sharon, I'm constantly buying another batch, hence why I never ever even see the end in sight. It's a good thing but some poor books have been waiting a long time to be read. :(
Oh and the housework analogy is perfect Sharon.....
Mel, I do that sometimes. I have to be in a certain mood to read certain types of books. So if I'm really after a rom com, I'm not going to read a gritty crime novel etc.
Great minds, Eleni! Stone Cold Lover is doing the rounds of blogs. Congrats to Mel again on her release!
Definitely Anna. Just so happy for Mel.
hey there Anna! Glad you could stop by here too =)
I'm stoked you girls both spotlighted me! (mwa)
LOL late to the party *again*!!!
Huge congrats on the release of Stone Cold Lover, Mel! The cover rocks and I can't wait to read the book!
Hi Christina!
Thanks so much, hope you like it =)
Actually, I have your book, Foretaste of Forever, in next month's to be read list after this months backlog is cleared LOL!!! Is it ever cleared... I keep adding and adding!
Christina glad you made it to cheer Mel on. Doesn't matter if it's late either ;) it's always good to see you.
Mel I really enjoyed Foretaste of Forever - you're in for a treat.
Ooh, hope you enjoy FoF, Mel!
Eleni, thank you!
You're welcome Christina. But thank you for the great read.
