Pimping....

Yep, you read that right - Pimping. Don't worry, I'm here to Pimp a Book ;))

Amanda Ashby is having a 10-day blog party (that's some serious partying)  for her new release 'Zombie Queen of Newbury High".  Zombies - you know the brraaaaiiiinnnnsss loving creatures.

I can't tell you how many horror films I watched in my teens. So will be looking forward to reading this.  It's such a unique angle:

"When a teenage girl accidently turns her whole school into zombies, she is forced to work with an annoying stuck-up zombie hunter and a best friend who keeps trying to chew off her arm, in order to find a cure before prom night turns into an all-you-can-eat buffet.."

Isn't that just the coolest cover. So goth chic. Anyhow, you can find out more about the book from Amanda's website. And follow the party at her blog. She's got some great prizes from YA authors.  And don't forget the fighting against the zombies to get to the buffet table! ;)

Wordle

At Wordle, I thought it would be interesting to see a scramble of words from this blog. Here's what it came up with.

Yes I'm procrastinating.... sigh.

How addicted to blogging I am....

OK, so not a complete addict...but definitely onto the path of one.

Thanks to Suzanne Brandyn for the interesting link.

Yia!

I've been slimed....No, that's Lemonaded....

Lemonaded?  Well it's the "When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade" Award. I was nominated by Christina Phillips and Monique Wood (Thanks Ladies)

Life sure likes to throw lemons at me and mine, so I like to see this is a positive award, because despite the bumps, we still continue on our journey.

It works this way:
1) Link back to the person you received the award from (check), and
2) Nominate 10 bloggers who are deserving of this award (check)

So I shall Lemonade the following (trying not to double up here with others being awarded). Thanks for your inspiring blogs:

* Authorness - Vanessa
* Kiki Lon
* Neomi Quinn ;)
* AJ Macpherson
* The Houseboat of Decadence - CAM
* Tannia Franklin
* Tracey O'hara
* Barbara Hannay
* Trish Morey
* Keri Arthur

May everyone make Lemonade out of any lemons they are given in life - or maybe a lemon cheesecake... hmmm.... cheesecake ;)

Website Update

Well today was the day I mucked around with my website -- again. No major changes, mainly cosmetic like changing font colours. But it seemed to take awhile to do.

Let me know if there are major problems if you ever visit.  And any suggestions for improvement are always welcome.

Blogged out...

Well not writing them, just reading them. Because I have been snowed under, I had over 1000+ blog feeds in my Google reader. Um...skim....hell yeah! No way I could have read them all.... it felt like it was never ending as it was. But I feel better now that I have skidded over them.....

Now I hope to be able to keep up.

And I did the blog skidding after I did some editing. Yay me.

How to help.....

Lyn Taylor has a blog posting on how to help those in Victoria:

Musings of a Cover Artist: Victorian Bushfires: "here"
(Thanks Lyn)

Coles is also donating all of their Friday profits to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal in parthnership with the Australian Red Cross.

Sending deepest sympathies to all those affected. Our thoughts are with you.

Tragedy

My heart goes out to those affected by Australia's worst ever bushfires raging in Victoria. It's absolutely horrible. So many lives taken, homes and farms lost, and communities devastated.

Wishing everyone to be safe.

Over stuffed...

Reminds me of my study...... hee hee.
No seriously, sometimes this is life. Trying to stuff so much into one day and getting distracted by a myriad of things. In the last week, I've realised how much time I spend on 'other' things - eg reading blogs about writing or by authors, or other blogs that interest me, as well as newsletters etc. I find it interesting but it is a time sucker.

The reason why I realised it is that I haven't done much of this type of activity this week. I have been editing using my EeePC and haven't been so distracted by other things on the internet. So I think I need to make sure I get work done before I read blogs. Or limit my time. That way I get to what I want to do to move forward - editing & writing!

Maybe having a sore back was a wake up call.

Do you feel like the guy in the picture sometimes?
How do you balance your time?

Stinkin' Hot!!!

Well Adelaide is caught up in a heat wave with low 40 degrees Celsius weather. Thank goodness for air conditioning. Unlike a friend of mine, I am not a lizard, I do not find this weather comfortable. But I'd rather a dry hot day than a humid day, I suppose.

Was having nice walks along the beach but I've had problems with my back this week and beach walking isn't the best for it. Drat!!

My deep edit/polish of HD is going slow. I had a really tough chapter to edit as there was a lot of information that needed to be revealed in this part of the story and I think I've just got it to flow. Yay me.

And I'm so proud of SciFi TV Australia - they had Battlestar Galactica season 4 marathon today and aired the latest episode (13)  just hours after it was aired in the US. Way to go. I could actually sit and relax. I'm loving this season... it's bittersweet - I want to see the end but I'd love the show to keep going.

I think that bittersweet feeling is also there when you read a really good book - want to get to the finish but want to savour the story. Don't you think?

Keep cool...
