Christos Anesti

To all those celebrating Orthodox Easter, Happy Easter, or as we say in Greek 'Christos Anesti'

Paschal greeting, Easter custom among Eastern Orthodox and several Roman Catholic and Protestant Christians to greet another person with "Christ is Risen!" and the response is Alithos Anesti ("Truly He is Risen!" or "He Has Risen Indeed!")

Christina not late at all - Orthodox Easter was yesterday (a week later than the rest of the non-Orthodox Easter celebrations).

Happy Easter. I'm afraid I have a very limited understanding of the religion. A good friend and the movie 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' is my only reference. So whenever she says anything Greek (especially 'Christos Anesti') all I think of is yummy John Corbett announcing - "I have three testicles!" LOL

Jenn - LOL - that was a funny scene from the movie. Poor guy. Easter is bigger to the Orthodox community than Christmas, with many church services during the whole of the week preceding Easter. Thanks for your wishes.
